Linksfield Speedster

I was quite surprised to read an article yesterday, talking about someone called Emmanuel Jackson caught doing 249 km/h in his Lambo.

This morning, I see another article, talking about Lolly Jackson, the owner of the Teazers chain, being caught doing 249km/h.

He just came from the track, where he was said to have done 300km/h. He knows how to handle that Gallardo...

At the current Macworld Expo Harman Kardon has introduced an interesting car audio system Harman Kardon Drive + Play, which is a cradle for the iPod installed in a car. Featuring full iPod control functional opportunities the system excludes a possibility to steal the iPod from the car.

Harman Kardon Drive + Play

The Drive + Play consists of 3 components: a rotating LCD backlit screen, which can be installed where it is comfortable, a 5D navigation module with similar functionality of BMW iDrive, and a connection module Brain. The Brain in its turn has a wireless FM-transmitter with 5 frequencies preset by the manufacturer and one frequency set by the user. The module is equipped with a 3.5 mm analog out, so you can plug it to any car audio device with an analog in. the Drive + Play charges the iPod when you plug it. The system will emerge by September 2005 with an approximate retail price of $200.

City of God - Fo' Reeeal, Yo!

GANGSTA GANGSTA!!!

This is tooooo hardcore!!!

"Five A.M.: In the sultry depths of Rio de Janeiro’s Nova Holanda shantytown—or favela (pronounced fuh-VELL-luh)—more than 1,000 people are dancing in a narrow street. A wall of speakers stacked 15 feet high and 60 feet wide sends a dirty electro beat shuddering through the ground. On a tiny stage, MCs Juca and Paulinho* shout out the lyrics of their hit “24 Hours”: “Bullets into the Terceiro,” they say in chorus. “Shoot the snitch!” Suddenly the crackle of gunfire cuts through the bass: From the middle of the swaying crowd, someone is shooting into the air.

A sea of hands goes up: The men point their index fingers and cock their thumbs, waving imaginary guns over their heads. Other hands form into C and V shapes—the Rio gang sign of the Comando Vermelho, the “Red Command” drug faction that runs this favela. On the stage beside Juca and Paulhino stands a young man in his early 20s; he has a pencil moustache, wears an expensive blue T-shirt with a picture of a surfer on the front and is holding a sub-machine gun. He smiles with approval at the show."

UPDATE: Rape photos may have been for child porn site

STILL sickened!!!

July 06 2005 at 08:14AM

By Anna Louw

The rape of a schoolgirl by a gunman, while his accomplice took photos, might have been destined for an Internet child porn site.

The weekend attack on the 14-year-old Grade 8 pupil has stunned even seasoned Child Protection Unit detectives, who have intensified their search for the men.

The wide-eyed teenager sitting on the couch close to her father at their home in Elsburg, Germiston, on Tuesday looked tired.

Outwardly the slender girl with a chestnut ponytail appeared calm, but she admitted that she was frightened and struggling to sleep because of recurring nightmares.

She said she decided to speak out about her ordeal "to warn other girls not to walk alone and to be very careful".

This is her story: She was walking to visit a friend two blocks from her home on Saturday afternoon when a car with tinted windows pulled up next to her.

The front passenger window was wound down and the driver asked if she knew where a certain street was. She said she did not. He asked her to come closer and look at something. A map-book was lying on the front seat next to him.

As she approached, a blond man who had been in the back pushed a gun against her head. He told her to get into the car.

The girl said she suddenly felt scared.

When the blond man grabbed her, she lost her balance and fell onto the front seat.

They drove a few blocks to the municipal library and around the back of the building, stopping in the deserted car park, which is shielded from two streets by walls and trees and the town hall.

"The blond man still had the gun in his hand. He said 'Take off your clothes, or must I'?"

The teenager, who was wearing jeans, boots and a T-shirt, said she told him she did not want to take off her clothes. He again threatened her with the gun.

"I took off my clothes because he was pointing the gun at me. He took off his trousers and put on a condom. When he raped me, the other man stood taking photos with a digital camera.

"Afterwards they drove to the NG Church, which is nearby, and told me to get out of the car."

She recalled the last digits of the car's registration: 315GP.

She said the men spoke Afrikaans. The driver, who was wearing jeans and a black shirt, had short, dark hair and a sallow complexion. He was short and well built.

The man with the gun had short, blond hair and wore denims and a white T-shirt.

After they let her go, the teenager started to walk home and saw a woman in the street. She asked her if she could use her phone.

"The auntie wanted to know what was wrong and I told her what happened to me. She took me inside and gave me some water and phoned my father."

The father called the police.

The teenager is one of three daughters. Her older sister is 17 and the youngest is 10.

"My sister is going through hell. She has been struggling to sleep, and when she does, she wakes up screaming," said the older sister.

Girl was photographed during rape

I have absolutely NO words to express my sadness and horror!!!

July 04 2005 at 01:22PM

A 14-year-old girl was raped and photographed after being forced into a car at gunpoint by two men on the East Rand on Saturday, police said on Monday.

Superintendent Andy Pieke said the girl was walking along a street near the Elsburg library when two Afrikaans men driving a red Honda Ballade called her closer.

When she was close to the car, one of the men threatened her with a gun and ordered her to get into the car.

Pieke said the men drove her into the library parking area and one of them raped her while the other took photographs.

"After the ordeal the girl was driven to a nearby church and ordered out," he said.

One of the men was described as having short blond hair, being clean-shaven with a dark complexion and well-built.

94.7 Percent Goooood Stuff

From IOL:

Illegal brew was almost pure alcohol

The illegal moonshine that killed at least 51 people and left more than a dozen blind in Kenya was nearly pure methanol with a concentration far higher than normally found in such toxic concoctions, health officials said on Wednesday.

"According to tests, the drink was pure methanol, the highest-ever methanol content we have found," said Simon Mueke, director of the Machakos District Hospital south-east of Nairobi which treated most of those who drank the brew.

"The drink was 94.70 percent methanol and the rest was water," he told reporters from the hospital about 60km from the capital. "We did not find any trace of (ethyl) alcohol or any other impurities in the drink.

That's some gooooood stuff, dog!!! Sure beats Hennessy!
